JUNE 2011: “Drive-by Shootings!?!?”

(NOTE: Newcomers, who would like to get an idea of what this site is all about, would be well-advised to click on "2005 Pages" and read that introduction. Enjoy!)

As most of you know, in 2005, TC and I left behind the "Land of Milk and Honey," and drive-by shootings...at least we thought so.
Okay, I'm not talking about an actual shooting, per se, but more like a photo shoot. They were shooting. We were shooting. Even a professional was shooting. Let me explain...
In April, two very good friends took a cruise which included transit of the Panama Canal—Caribbean to Pacific. Bill, a dear friend of TC's since grade school, and his partner, Donald, have been beating around the visit-us bush ever since we moved here, yet never made the trip. Instead, they booked a cruise.
Their ship, however, would not layover in Panama, meaning they couldn't disembark and visit; we could only do a drive-by shooting...and waving, plus yelling and screaming, and all accompanied by signage!
It was TC who wanted to make the most of it, so she arranged things with Bill and Donald for the transit: we would be on the top deck of the Mira Flores locks' visitors center, and their stateroom would be on the appropriate side of the boat for viewing us—in this case: port.
Other than that, we trusted we'd be able to pick them out from the hundreds, if not thousands, of passengers on the Norwegian Pearl (for some reason, it paid the largest single transit fee, $490,000, in history...at least that's what the visitors center's P.A. system claimed).

Also in April TC celebrated her birthday, just not with me. Nope, she was at another yoga retreat, although one here in Panama this time. She and our friend, Ursula, took off for a week of yoga on the beach, the same beach that holds Villa Marina, the hotel of Beach Week fame.
And TC took nearly a hundred pictures during that week, but lucky for me she posted a selection of them on her Kodak Gallery. So, if you'd like to see images from her week at the yoga retreat, just click on the picture and a new window will open. Close it to come back here...

Come May, it's our anniversary time, and this year we spent a couple of days at The Bristol Buenaventura. Not only is it a beautiful hotel that reminds us of our years in Santa Barbara, it also bears the same name as another town we both lived in for years: San Buenaventura, CA, or more simply, Ventura.
I know what you're thinking: "OMG, you left the house!?!?"
Yes, it's been known to happen on rare occasions, this being one. What can I say? I do what's "indicated". If I don't get a "feeling" that I should do something, I normally don't do it, because, if I do it anyway, it never turns out well. When TC mentioned staying at the Bristol, it felt right. So, we did, and everything went swimmingly...well, except for the jelly fish that ran us out of the Pacific. [Click the picture...]

Lucky for you, that brings us to our last gallery, our obligatory Casa Ingaso happenings. It's been a quiet period around here, photo-wise. So, this gallery will be just another slice of Ingaso life, with a new lake trail thrown in to spice things up a bit.
All that's left for you to do is click on the kitty!

There. That wasn't so bad was it? You get less to wade through when our updates adhere to a more regular schedule. Of course, I can't promise they will continue that, so enjoy 'em while you can.

“¡Hasta la vista, amigos!”
