FEBRUARY 2007: “Tres Aņos (3 years)...but who's counting?”

[ NOTE: Newcomers, who'd like to get an idea of what this site is all about, would be well-advised to click on "2005 Pages" and read that introductory page. Enjoy! ]

Most of you already know that Jessica, TC's sister, is here and that they took-off with two friends on a plant-buying holiday trek. (I stayed home to abuse the animals; opportunities for it don't come along often...)

This picture shows TC with Dee and Connie (Jessica took it) somewhere on that trip (click it!), and obviously somewhere cool—we don't wear get-ups like that here at Casa Ingaso, believe me. In fact, it's very rare I have on more than shorts and a T-shirt, and I'm fond of telling Northerners that my cold-weather gear consists of a pair of socks.

So, 2007 starts off right where 2006 left off: plant buying excursions! It's just that this one took six days, covered over 1000 kilometers, and needed a 16'-truck to follow our giddy amigas around picking-up their purchases. Just to give you an idea of why they were so giddy: agapanthus, or lily-of-de-Niles, only 50 cents a piece...

Anyhow, seeing as both of our cameras died at the same time, it was up to Jessica to carry-on the Casa Ingaso tradition of shooting everything that moves...or not move in my case; but then I try to avoid the business end of the lens at all costs; "You're welcome!"

At any rate, click on the flower picture for a trip gallery of our gals, all photos by Jessica McVey (I wanted to make sure I gave her credit, since I caught all kinds of crap for using some of her pictures last year without doing so.)

While I'm giving away credit, I may as well include another gallery shot exclusively by TC of Panama's largest orchid-exporting farm: Hacienda Loma Linda. It's just a hop, skip and 4x4 jaunt from Altos, to which TC took some visitors to see the magnificent blooms and incredible production facilities of this huge finca—a covered "green" house of 10 hectares (almost 25 acres!).

TC and Jessica tried to visit last year but didn't know they needed to make reservations. I think the two of them might try again this year, if they haven't had enough of plants by now.

Well, as if that isn't enough, Jessica has shot some other pictures around Casa Ingaso that I'd like to add. So, we have one more small gallery before I leave you alone...for a while. It's fun for me to post shots I haven't taken, pictures that show Casa Ingaso and her denizens through new eyes. So, I hope you enjoy these new year galleries.

"Hasta la vista, amigos!"
