Despite mass quantities of food, Ribo's ribs showed for those first weeks. His belly (as you'll soon see) would become distended, but he was slow to put meat on his bones. (That toy, which looks nearly as big as Ribo, is a stuffed cow, and it became his constant companion and playmate. Unfortunately, it had squeakers in it's limbs and torso, so we always knew where Ribo was whether we wanted to or not. The cow is still with us, minus four of the squeakers...)
