At any rate, a day or two later, Panamanians stopped burning their trash long enough to allow this beautiful view. (In the dry season everyone burns their yard and field waste and local legend has it that all the fires cause the nearly constant haze. I'm sure the burns don't help, but the haze is more of an atmospheric thing.)
